The Food and Beverage department is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.
It is the responsibility of the Bartender to professionally, courteously and energetically serve our guests beverages and bar menu items, fill in as needed in other areas and help in maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room. Accurately record sales and balance daily transactions. Stock and maintain a neat and clean workstation.
Working as a team member and focusing on fulfilling our guest’s needs are the key roles
for the Bartender while adhering to company policies.

- Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner and being able to answer questions knowledgeably and professionally.
- Must possess RBS certification.
- You must be able to work during employee parties, special events and knowing that the bartender is usually the last to leave.
- Accurately handle cash and card transactions.
- Use of P.O.S. system.
- Knowledge of all bar items, pricing and types of beers, wine and liquor.
- Ability to possess California Food Handlers card (Serv Safe Cert).
- Be knowledgeable of F&B prices, product awareness (what foods are served and offered) and other services offered at Dodge Ridge.
- Keep the front and back of the bar clean, practicing safe food handling and cleaning procedures.
- Set up and prepare a bar area for service daily.
- Close the bar area daily.
- Sweep the floor, mop and empty garbage before leaving.
- Check I.D and know the criteria for refusing services to anyone and comply with all company policies for alcohol sales and services.
- Clean tables, when not busy in the bar area.
- Stock and rotate kegs of beer weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Be aware of current mountain conditions.
- Other duties as assigned while becoming cross trained in all areas.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to learn a computerized P.O.S. system.
- Good organizational skills and a team player.
- Must be well groomed and present a good public image and energetic personality.
- Good physical condition as this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying.
- Good manual and physical dexterity skills.
- Safety and risk orientated.
- Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.
- Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment
- Ability to possess “California Food Handlers Card”
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be punctual, honest, trustworthy and practice good judgment.
- Provide a positive and helpful attitude towards all our customers and all Dodge Ridge employees.
- Support the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Support the harmony and goodwill of the Company.
- Be an effective team leader and motivator for the department.
Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.
When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you may encounter inclement weather conditions and traffic congestion.
Working ConditionsAt any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
UniformsTo project a professional appearance at Dodge Ridge, your department requires a uniform be worn, including a nametag. Please wear both at all times during your scheduled shift.
We will provide most of the uniform (shirt, hat and apron) for you to do your job.
