HIRING SALARY RANGE: $28.00 -$32.00 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.

The work schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented General Maintenance Technician to join our DIN (Do It Now) Team at our clients pharmaceutical Research & Development facility. As part of the second-shift crew, you will play a key role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of our buildings by identifying and addressing maintenance issues on the spot. The DIN approach emphasizes walking all facility spaces to spot opportunities for immediate improvements, ensuring a clean, safe, and professional environment that supports our innovative R&D operations. All activities will be tracked in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure compliance and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and is committed to upholding high standards in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Facility Patrols (DIN Approach): Conduct regular walkthroughs of all facility spaces, including but not limited to offices, labs, common areas, and mechanical rooms to identify aesthetic and general maintenance needs that can be addressed immediately.
- Aesthetic Maintenance and Repairs: Perform tasks to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the facility, such as:
- Painting and patching walls, doors, and other surfaces.
- Replacing damaged or missing ceiling tiles
- Replacing damaged or missing floor tiles
- Repairing leaky sinks, faucets, and minor plumbing issues.
- Replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and ensuring proper illumination.
- General Maintenance Activities: Handle a variety of on-the-spot repairs and improvements to maintain a polished facility environment, including minor carpentry, basic electrical and other tasks that contribute to the facilitys visual appeal and operational smoothness.
- Safety and Quality Adherence: Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Report any hazards or escalated issues to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical, laboratory, or industrial environment. Familiarity with aesthetic repairs and proactive maintenance approaches is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic hand and power tools for painting, patching, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. Basic knowledge of building systems (e.g., HVAC awareness, lighting, plumbing). Experience using CMMS software for work order tracking; training will be provided if needed.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset. Excellent communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with team members. Ability to work independently during second shift with minimal supervision.
- Availability: Must be available for second-shift hours, including potential weekends as required by facility operations.
Some physical/special requirements include:
- Regularly lift to 50 lbs
- Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
- Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.
- Walk extensively throughout the facility during shift
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Technical degree preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses.
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
- Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
