Job Overview:

Annapolis Yacht Club, located in the heart of Downtown Annapolis, is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of dishes, adhering to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering exceptional meals to our guests.

Qualifications:

Enrollment in culinary school, ACF apprenticeship and/or 1 year experience as cook in a high-volume private club setting or other hospitality related position
Desire and practice continued career growth by seeking new information, innovative ideas and techniques
Ability to interact with membership, FOH, and kitchen staff in a consistently pleasant manner

Essential Functions:

Interacts with sous chefs, cooks, and FOH management to achieve flawless member service
Assists sous chefs and cooks as needed or requested, using set specifications
Use set recipes and production standards
Use proper cooking procedures & temperatures, and plate presentations as provided
Assists fellow cooks and stewards using set cleaning and sanitation practices

Physical and Mental Requirements/Environmental Conditions

Prolonged standing in confined space
Concentration in a fast-paced kitchen
Flexibility in work hours as needed to fulfill club requirements
Reliable transportation to ensure consistent and punctual attendance is a must!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
