Short Order Line Cook at Fiddleheads Cafe

Job Overview
Fiddleheads Cafe is a local breakfast and lunch institution- in operation for nearly 30 years! We make everything from scratch, with menus changing seasonally and utilizing many locally produced ingredients. Our line can be busy and we are seeking someone who has experience in the kitchen, has hustle, can work clean and is able to communicate well. This is a Full time job, and includes some prep and cooking responsibilities.

Pooled tips plus an hourly rate commensurate with experience. Family meal and a staff discount.

Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Assist with meal preparation according to recipes or as directed by the chef
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, baking, or sauteing as appropriate
- Ensure that food is stored and handled properly
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food production

Skills
- Proficient in knife skills for food preparation
- Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments
- Knowledge of menu planning and food service operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Previous experience as a cook is advantageous
- Familiarity with catering practices is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
