Position Title: Host
Summary
The Host sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience. This role blends hospitality with operational finesse—welcoming guests, managing reservations, preparing the space, and ensuring service standards are consistently met.
The Host builds rapport with guests, updates guest profiles for personalized service, and communicates closely with the Manager on Duty (MOD) to share guest feedback, service wins, or issues.
This is a guest-facing, high-energy role that thrives during evening and weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with warmth and enthusiasm, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive.
- Manage reservations and walk-ins, ensuring smooth flow and minimal wait times.
- Maintain and update guest profiles to personalize service and recognize returning patrons.
- Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to the bar team and MOD.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their visit and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Assist with pre-bussing and resetting bar tables to maintain flow and cleanliness.
- Coordinate with security or door staff during peak hours to manage crowd control and guest safety.
- Document key updates in the host log, checklist, and reservation system.
- Collaborate with the MOD to share guest insights, service highlights, and any operational concerns.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal communication and a guest-first attitude.
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role, ideally in a high-volume bar or restaurant venue.
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak service times.
