Custodian

BASIC FUNCTION: To participate in the performance of unskilled or skilled tasks in the upkeep of assigned public buildings, grounds, and related facilities. Responsible for overall cleanliness, and to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

JOB GOAL:

• To keep the district’s school buildings in a state of housekeeping excellence so they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.
• To provide exemplary performance in all aspects of custodial service and to ensure that all work performed in completed to standard.
• To demonstrate a positive attitude, loyalty, cooperation, teamwork, attendance, and safety.

This role involves cleaning and maintaining assigned spaces and equipment to meet health standards. Responsibilities include vacuuming, shampooing carpets and furniture, scrubbing and waxing floors, dusting furniture, washing windows and walls, and handling waste disposal. Additionally, the role involves reporting repair needs, making service improvement suggestions, and ensuring cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
