Dietary Cook

Overview
Sapphire is looking for a Full time Dietary Cook to join our team in providing high-quality meal preparation for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and a strong understanding of dietary needs, particularly in a nursing home environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, delicious meals while adhering to specific dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
Assist in the inventory management of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident requests and feedback regarding meal preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.

Experience

Previous experience in food production or cooking within a nursing home, assisted living facility, or similar environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special diets is a plus, as well as an understanding of nutrition principles related to the food industry.
