Description: Cook IThe role involves assisting the Head Cook with food preparation, maintaining a clean kitchen, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. Job Summary:Assisting with Food Preparation: This includes tasks such as preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating meals according to established menus and dietary needs.Maintaining a Clean and Sanitary Kitchen: Ensuring the kitchen and cafeteria are clean and organized, and that all food safety and sanitation standards are followed.Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhering to all health department regulations and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Other Duties: Take required training, identify a reimbursable meal, accurate computer input, assist in supervision of student workers, washing dishes, receiving and storing food, monitoring food temperatures and assume the role of Head Cook position in their absence. The position may also involve assisting with record keeping, inventory, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Criminal history clearance (background check).Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and communicate effectively.Experience working with children and in a school setting is preferred.A current food handler's card is required.
