Help create a positive, nurturing experience for children through healthy meals and dependable care. The SDSU Early Learning Center is looking for a compassionate and dependable Food Service Worker to help nourish and support the daily routines of our young learners. In this role, you'll prepare and serve hot meals to approximately 110 children each day while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen space that supports our center's commitment to high-quality care.

The SDSU Early Learning Center, operated in partnership with Bright Horizons offers high-quality early education and care for children from infant to preschool. The center supports families by helping parents balance work and family responsibilities, all while fostering a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners.

This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, portion, and serve nutritious meals to children in accordance with daily menus and program guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the South Dakota Department of Social Services.
  • Track food quantities prepared and served, including the number of children served each day.
  • Apply knowledge gained from trainings and workshops to enhance food service practices and meet program standards.

Comments: This position is classified as Teacher Aide class code 31011.
