Were looking for a Part-Time Counter Attendant/Prep Cook to join our team for the reopening of the River Center Market under the new management of Marcus Hotels & Resorts. In this role you will be responsible for taking and preparing all food items according to menu standards and expediting orders quickly and correctly. Nestled inside the iconic Associated Bank Towerat the lively crossroads of arts, finance, business, tourism, and diningyoull work in an atmosphere buzzing with creativity and connection.

What will you be doing?

  • Prepare and cook food correctly following all required recipes and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain high quality level of food production and presentation as well as ensuring food outputs consistently appear appetizing and meet customer expectations.
  • Store, rotate, date, and label food properly to meet safety and freshness standards.
  • Monitor inventory of food items and requisition from storeroom.
  • Set up equipment needed for preparation prior to service.
  • Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation of cooking area along with personal hygiene.
  • Maintain communication between the other cooks, staff and management.
  • Provide friendly, attentive customer service, handling any guest concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Accurately process payments, manage a cash drawer or house bank, and balance funds at the end of each shift.

What we are looking for:

  • 12 years of cooking experience required; culinary school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Proficiency in grilling, sauteing, broiling, deep frying, cold food prep, and knife handling.
  • Ability to read orders from a POS system and prepare all menu items with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of proper cooking procedures, food safety, and sanitation standards; must obtain required certifications.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures and fast-paced environments.
  • Previous hospitality, barista, cashiering, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash, making change, balancing a cash drawer, and processing transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English to interact with guests, read menus, and follow recipes or promotions.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts as needed.
