The position is on 1st shift which is from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. The schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday (with Sunday and Monday off).
Compensation:
- Maximum - Based on experience
- Minimum - $23.76
What You'll Do:
Assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems in landside areas (e.g. terminal buildings).
3 Phase; 4,160 volts, 480/277 volt and 208/120 electrical systems
A variety of pumps, from 1 hp to 100 hp throughout the airport
All the lighting throughout RDUAA campus. Including fluorescent and HID using ladders and aerial lifts bucket trucks, and scaffolding
Checks operation. performs preventive maintenance, and repairs to automatic sliding door systems and UPS systems
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
Ensure proper functioning of lighting systems, signage, power supply systems, and electrical infrastructure.
Install new electrical equipment or systems, including lighting, power outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, and more.
Conduct safety inspections of landside electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
Maintain accurate records of electrical system maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized electrical work, including large-scale repairs or new system installations.
Inspect and maintain emergency power systems, including backup generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to ensure they function properly during power outages.
Checks operation, performs preventative maintenance, and assists with repairs for:
- Emergency power generators, automatic transfer switches, generator paralleling switchgear and distribution system
Electrical switchgear, transformers, bus duct, motor control centers, and variable frequency drives
Test emergency systems periodically to confirm operational readiness.
Respond to electrical emergencies in landside operations, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations.
Assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems in landside areas (e.g. terminal buildings).

- High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Associate degree or Apprentice Program
Experience:
Required:
- 2 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade
Preferred:
- 4 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade
Licenses or Certifications:
Required:
- Valid NC Driver's License
- CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9 months)
Preferred
- NC Registered Journeyman's Certificate
