Utility Worker-1

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks in the maintenance of a golf course: must have ability to operate specified mowing equipment and be willing to perform menial tasks. This position will be required to work shifts including weekends & holidays, as well as overtime as needed by the department. This position will be required to work during inclement weather.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mows greens, fairways, tee, fringes, and rough.
• Service ball washers.
• Change Cups on greens.
• Clean restrooms.
• Perform touch up painting as needed.
• Trims trees.
• Plants grass.
• Mow various areas with push mowers.
• Spot watering golf course. (hand & radio)
• Spreads fertilizer.
• Rakes & details bunkers.
• Prepping and laying sod.
• Weedeating.
• Edging.
• Brush Cleanup.
• Assist in course improvement projects.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

18 Years of Age with a valid Texas Driver's License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES.

• Ability to operate small/light equipment, such as power and hand tools, shovels, mops, wrenches, and brooms.
• Ability to operate medium equipment and machinery, such as pick up, tractors, hydraulic mowing equipment such as greens mower, fringe mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, etc.
• Ability to arrive to at work at early morning hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to loud.
• Frequent lifting; bending; climbing; stooping and pulling.
• Frequent repetitive motions.
• Continuous standing and walking.
• The employee works in an environment with machinery that could result in body harm.
