Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Position Purpose: The Concierge/Primary Care Business Services/Referrals Specialist functions in a supportive role in the healthcare team to facilitate the patient follow in the practice. Responsible for performing all business functions including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, copay and point of service collections, pre-certifications, prior authorizations, referrals, chart prep, managing incoming and outgoing faxes and providing clerical support to the providers and staff. Plays a critical role in checkout functions and is responsible for scheduling specialty referral appointments. What you will do: Accurately registers patients ensuring that the information required is obtained and verified, confirming identity, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co-pay, and other pertinent information in order to complete patient registration Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner Responsible for taking the lead in complex scheduling specialty referral appointments at checkout. Able to understand and schedule referral appointments across all specialties Cross covering other positions within the various departments or sites when assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Requires minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework in secretarial or medical sciences preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience within a medical office or billing department required. Previous scheduling experience with Epic EMR system strongly preferred.
