Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist

Overview*We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team.The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient service via the phone while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.This position requires proficiency in various medical software systems and a strong understanding of clerical duties within a healthcare environment.*Responsibilities** Check and sort through mail.* Maintain accurate patient records using various programs.* Handle incoming patient calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding remote monitoring services.* Process patient billing and coding accurately to ensure proper insurance claims.* Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.* Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.* Collaborate with medical staff to support patient care initiatives.*Experience** Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist is preferred.* Familiarity with medical coding practices is an advantage.* Proficiency in using computerized systems for patient management (Meditech, Athena, Epic, Practice Fusion, etc.).* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.* Excellent communication and customer service skills to provide outstanding patient service.We offer a HIPAA certification course on the job and are open to discussing flexible hours.Join our team and contribute to providing high-quality care in a supportive environment!We look forward to speaking with you.Job Type: Part-timePay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hourExpected hours: 20 a 32 per weekBenefits:* On-the-job training* Paid trainingAbility to Commute:* Mount Vernon, NY 10550-2683 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Mount Vernon, NY 10550-2683: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
