Job DetailsBonjour! We are looking for an enthusiastic Head Barista/Front of House Manager to join our team!
Atelier Ariana is a cafe & patisserie in Carroll Gardens. It is a space to bring French-inspired foods, teas, coffees, and other beverages to Brooklyn. Our menus feature seasonal, unique recipes made in-house.
An ideal candidate will see the value in artisanal products and be eager to share them with current and future customers. Someone who is personable, adaptable, and works toward the goals of the team will be a valuable addition.
Successful applicants will be able to work 8h shifts Wednesday through Sunday.
Responsibilities and qualifications:
- Run front of house space and manage junior baristas
- Must have enthusiasm for being part of a small business
- Adhere to food and safety guidelines
- Barista and cashier duties: dialing in, latte art, serving food items, etc
- Exceptional and personable customer service
- Knowledge of coffees and teas (from product to brew to service)
- Able to work efficiently independently and on a team (currently we are a small team and there is a lot of independent work)
- Ensure front of house is always equipped with relevant task lists, recipes, food allergy lists, and menus
- Maintain all relevant inventory: disposables, drinks, coffee, tea, foods
- Maintain clean and presentable workspace (coffee, pastry bar, cold pastry case)
- Help with maintenance tasks of keeping the cafe organized, clean, and running smoothly
- Report directly to head chef
- Availability for both open and close shifts
- Have a certificate in Food Protection (preferred)
- Adapt to the changing and growing needs of this small business as needed
- Must have experience in specialty coffee
- Must have at least 1 year experience in a similar management role; 3 years of experience as a barista
Salary: $45,000-$48,000 annually (experience dependent) + pooled tips
Salary ranges from $21.60 - $24 per hour.
Hours: 40h/week, management position
