Lead Barista - Campus Coffee Shop
Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 20-25 hours/week (flexible schedule)
Reports to: Office of Student Success / Student Success Specialist
POSISTION SUMMARY:
The Lead Barista helps oversee the daily operations of the campus coffee shop, working closely with the Student Life team to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and efficient environment. This role combines barista duties with leadership tasks including training, inventory, and scheduling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with warmth and efficiency
Open and close the shop independently; ensure cleanliness and organization of workspace
Train and mentor new baristas, ensuring consistency in drink preparation and service
Monitor inventory and submit weekly restock needs
Create weekly staff schedules in coordination with supervisor
Ensure shop complies with health and safety standards
Support promotional events, seasonal menu items, and student engagement efforts
Represent the spirit and hospitality of the campus community
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior barista or cafe experience (1 year preferred)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Attention to detail and commitment to customer service
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for coffee and creating a welcoming space
