Job Description

Position Summary:

The school custodian is responsible for maintaining, cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the facility. He/she will perform basic cleaning, sanitation,a nd minor maintenance of assigned areas, floor maintenance, moving of furniture/supplies, and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, and finish floors

Dust furniture and other areas

vacuum and shampoo carpets

Clean restrooms and restock paper and soap supplies

Perform routine maintenance

Empty trash cans and dispose of trash

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promote workplace safety

Assist in loading and unloading of supplies as needed. Arrange boxes, materials, and other supplies in a neat and orderly manner

Set up tables and chairs for various functions and events as required

Assist in snow/ice removal, and other emergency situations

Open and secure buildings when necessary

Perform other duties as assigned
