The opportunity
Delaware North Travel is searching for a full-time or part-time Cook to join our team at Lexington Airport in Lexington, Kentucky. Join us and become a vital ingredient in the team where you'll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and create mouthwatering dishes that will leave guests craving for more.
On July 10, 2025, Delaware North announced its US-based Travel Hospitality Services (THS) business will be sold to Areas, a global leader in travel dining and retail. The sale is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2025. Upon completion of the sale, all THS team members will become part of Areas. Areas will operate 369 locations in 27 airports and 12 travel plazas nationwide, with a U.S. workforce of over 6,000. Globally, Areas serves travelers in 11 countries with 2,200 points of sale and over $3 billion in annual revenue. For more information, please visit: www.areas.com

What will you do?
Follow the supervisor's assignments for food production and prepare food and beverage products for guests by following recipe guidelines, using proper preparation techniques, and sanitation guidelines
Set up, operate, and clean kitchen equipment according to correct procedures, as well as keep workstations clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
Work cooperatively with team members and management
Follow the supervisor's assignments for opening and closing procedures
More about you
Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
1 year of cooking experience required
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to work as a team player, follow procedures, and take directions
Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
Must be at least 18 years of age
No diploma required
Physical requirements
Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more
Ability to stand for long periods while also bending, lifting, and reaching
Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
Exposed to variable temperatures
