As a host/hostess, you are the first point of contact for guests. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing waitlists, and accurately quoting wait times.
Key Responsibilities:
Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, creating a positive first impression. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Answer incoming phone calls; take and fill to-go and curbside orders; clean, organize and stock menus; and perform other assigned side work.
Track table status and manage the seating chart, to ensure efficient and balanced table assignments. Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
Take names and phone numbers for the waiting list and quote accurate wait times to guests when tables are not immediately available.
Clearly communicate wait times and manage guest expectations. Provide updates as needed and ensure guests are informed of any changes.
Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Provide information about the menu and specials as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station. Ensure that the waiting area and entrance are tidy and welcoming.
Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Relay any special requests or issues to the appropriate team members.
Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and efficiency, escalating to management if necessary.

Qualifications: *Must be at least 16 years of age*

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required
Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred
High school diploma or GED preferred
