Job DetailsLe Chene is a new French restaurant in the West Village by acclaimed Chef Alexia Duchene and her husband Ronan Duchene Le May overseeing the dining room. Le Chene focuses on classic recipes with a modern approach matched with an extensive wine program.
Le Chene is seeking a highly skilled and driven Bartender to join this first restaurant project in New York City. The food at Le Chene is a blend of French classics executed with a modern touch. The beverage program leans towards classic cocktails, approachable drinks with a few seasonal creations. French spirits is a focus but the restaurant has an extensive spirit list from around the world. This position is for someone that wants to work as a team with the Restaurant Manager, Sommelier and Chef to bring a cohesive beverage experience that goes along with the menu.
This is a full time or part-time position from Tuesday to Saturday (dinner service only), the restaurant operates five days a week and could extend to more operating days later in the year. We are open to having a bartender for minimum 3-4 shifts a week.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in bartending, fine dining restaurant or elevated bar a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Food safety knowledge
- Spirit knowledge and ability to create drinks that are around seasonality
- Passion for French spirits and food
- Good communication skills
- Food knowledge to guide guests on the menu
- Ability to take care of diners sitting at the bar (taking order, clearing plates, resetting with cutlery and glassware)
- Follow company policies and guidelines
- Ability to work independently while prepping or as a team during service
- Commitment to quality and attention to detail
- Being a team player
- Ability to prepare drinks in a very short time
Physical requirement:
- Standing for long periods of time
- Lifting and carrying occasionally up to 50 lb

Compensation: Hourly ($16.50) plus tips
