Job Details

We at Anomaly SF are seeking a new member of our growing team! As we are a very small business this position combines traditional host, food runner, and back server roles to create a full-time (35-40 hours per week) position for the right individual.

YOU: are self-motivated and detail-oriented, and like to have a set of rhythms to go through each day setting up for service. You will be instrumental in keeping all of our physical media up to date. Printing menus, updating pairings and wine lists, writing out chits, confirming dietary restrictions, welcoming guests to their tables, taking coats, and more. As a host you will be the first and last person that our guests interact with so this is a very important role. After all of our guests are in the dining room you will transition to a food runner and back waiter role. Supporting the captains with table service, maintaining water and noticing when guests might like new beverages, setting tables for next courses and working with the team to ensure every guest gets to hear each team members different perspective on our seasonal dishes. You are curious about tastes and fine dining and want to learn something new every day, and hold yourself to a high standard of professionalism.

WE: pride ourselves on creating beautiful experiences for guests and pushing ourselves to excellence while practicing the less-pretentious hospitality of the South and making sure we enjoy every day working together as a team. We work to make sure every individual working with us is sure about their contribution and what theyre working towards, and that we develop into the roles we are striving for by moving forward every day.

This position will be full time (35-40 hours per week) We seek always to hire candidates whose goals we can offer development toward achieving, whether it is further wine knowledge and practice (our beverage program is noted by Wine Spectator) or service standards and SOPs, or the constant journey of a seasonally-designed menu always seeking to push a step further. Or all three!

Pay will be a combination of hourly and tips - we are a service charge included environment but when we all really hit our notes in service we see more tip activity than in many environments like ours. The hourly plus tip rate will likely land somewhere between $27-$35, with the potential to grow into additional responsibilities and a higher rate on review.

Prior experience is less important in this role than the right skill set and attitude, so if this sounds like it might be fun and a good fit for you write in and let us know why youd like to be considered and well take it from there. Looking forward to hearing from yall!
