Description

Have buildings open and accessible before school each day and for extra curricular activities; Monitor heating and air conditioning daily; Report major repairs to principal/assistant principal; Monitor sewage treatment plant daily (if applicable); Make general repairs to buildings, equipment, etc.. as needed; Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment and materials essential to the daily operation of the school; Inspect buildings and grounds daily for needed maintenance, repair and replacement; Assist sweepers and parish maintenance personnel as needed; Take all necessary precautions prior to and during freezing weather conditions; Keep school yard and playground areas clean, mow, trim hedges/trees, weed-eat and poison weeds as needed; Keep up with tools, equipment, supplies and maintenance of said items; Assist cafeteria employees as needed; Clean special areas of buildings as requested by Principal; Clean sewage and grease traps and tend to minor drainage problems as needed; Check restrooms, cafeteria and electrical equipment each morning and perform maintenance as needed; Maintain storage of all flammables in storage building; Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal

Must be able to pass physical.

Skills and experience you will need:

Position required continuous standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, push/pulling, carrying, reaching overhead/lifting/lowering of 1-100 pounds.

There will be physical exposure to cold, heat, dampness and noise.

The ability to work appropriately with others in close proximity is a must.
