Oskar Luxury Apartments, an upscale residential community, located in the Hell's Kitchen district of New York City, seeks a polished and proactive Concierge to deliver exceptional service to our residents and guests. The Concierge serves as the first point of contact, embodying the sophistication and hospitality of our luxury brand. Position Overview This is part-time Concierge role working 1 night (3rd shift) per week, on Wednesday evening beginning at 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (8 hours). The hired candidate should be available and willing to cover other shifts as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 luxury building.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist residents and visitors, and answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Control access to the location and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises. Monitor CCTV when assigned. Ensure the security of the building and the safety of tenants/guests.
  • Share knowledge of the services and amenities available to residents to help them feel at home.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate what you see and hear to staff and management to ensure the residents’ needs are being met/Liaise with building management and maintenance staff to respond to emergencies.
  • Facilitate routine service requests, promptly passing them to relevant personnel, and coordinating emergency responses.
  • Ensure timely entry of service requests and conducting routine inspections for organized common areas.
  • Monitor scheduled move-in/ move-out processes.
  • Deliver an exceptional experience through genuine hospitality to residents, guests, and colleagues.
  • Maintain the highest levels of safety and security, including monitoring security cameras, conducting regular patrols, responding to emergencies and concerns promptly and efficiently, and exercising great judgement including escalating issues immediately.
  • Package-handling, including logging and distributing packages, and managing vendors and deliveries.
  • Implementing security measures by securing sensitive information and locking computers when away
  • Maintain accurate and complete shift logs ensuring proper "handover" to establish successful communication through shift changes.
  • Manage the front desk area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Maintain cleanliness of the lobby and surrounding areas.
  • Utilize computerized systems to manage and maintain accurate records, including incident reports and logbooks as required.
  • Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and provide accurate and timely responses to phone calls and respond to calls for assistance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service position
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be energetic, dependable and motivated to work
  • Service-focused, with genuine passion for delivering hospitality
  • Proficiency with computerized phone systems and the ability to use them effectively
  • Ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work calmly in stressful situations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods at the front desk and occasionally lift packages up to 30 lbs.
  • Some work may require physical activities such as lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 luxury building.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in hospitality or customer service is advantageous.
  • NYC-specific certifications (e.g., F-03 Fire Guard for Place of Public Assembly) may be required or provided upon hire.

Other Requirements

  • Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
  • Willingness to join the union after 30 days of employment, if applicable, per building policy.

Work Environment
The Concierge will work primarily at the front desk in the lobby of Oskar Luxury Apartments, a modern, mid-rise building in NYC. The role involves interaction with a diverse resident population, including professionals, families, and VIPs, requiring discretion and tact. The position may involve standing for long periods and occasional light physical tasks (e.g., moving packages).
