Event Coordinator
Block is searching for an Event Coordinator for an on-site role that supports events in the office and the Community Space in Oakland. This role will also support catering, event setup, and day-of execution as needed. The coordinator reports directly to the Workplace Experience Manager.
Our ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to tackling issues. Most importantly, the right person for this role is someone who can navigate successfully between the big and small components of their work, and is ready and willing to roll up their sleeves to do whats needed to get the job done. You will be expected to be able to balance community-led events and office-led events. You will work directly with community organizations as well as Executive Assistants and other office staff. You take pride in making our space both beautiful and functional, and know how important even the tiniest details are to making a space great.
Essential Functions
Provide a seamless guest experience for our community members and corporate customers during events.
Act as a key player to support event planners in executing events daily, including supporting multiple events at the same time.
Maintain event space function and aesthetic, including furniture, signage, facilities, maintenance, and cleaning.
Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming experience to our guests and partners at all times.
Assist with the coordination of external vendors and event deliveries, including catering, linen, transportation, and other decor elements.
Monitor conference room reservations and JIRA tickets.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in a customer service or hospitality role, including but not limited to restaurant, retail, and/or office experience
Excellent, honest, and clear communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to converse easily with anyone
Impeccable attention to detail
Proven ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage a busy schedule
Must have excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor
Team Player who is flexible and can easily adapt to change
Knowledge of or ability to learn the Tripleseat platform

Typical Schedule
This role will be 36-40 hours/week, Sunday through Thursday. Sunday morning shifts are a requirement, starting at 8 am and ending at 1 pm. Monday through Thursday will be 12 pm to 8 pm. Please note that these hours are subject to change based on event times andthe needs of the space and office.
