Building Maintenance Technician

Description The Building Maintenance Technician will assist with the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role will perform routine and preventative maintenance and repairs in our facilities to ensure efficient operational functionality. The Building Maintenance Technician will regularly inspect and respond to maintenance requests for a variety of building maintenance repairs.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks in and around the building, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the life of building systems and equipment.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

  • Repair building systems and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Assist with maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for building maintenance tasks.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.

  • Maintain the exterior of the building if not serviced by a contractor.

  • Log detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, materials used, and inspections.

  • Operate computerized Energy Management systems.

  • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and maintenance concerns

  • Provide excellent customer service. Respond to fix requests/problems in a timely and courteous manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent Required

  • Proven experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
