Department: Culinary

Reports To: Sous Chef, Executive Chef

Job Overview:

The Cafeteria Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items for the hotel's cafeteria. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as special events and catering needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food preparation techniques, a passion for culinary arts, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Stock and maintain kitchen supplies.
  • Assist with inventory control and food cost management.
  • Assist with special events and catering as needed.
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a cook or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Food Handler's Certification (required or obtained upon hire).

    Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid environment.
