Maumee City Schools Groundskeeper/Custodian 12 Months

POSITION AVAILABLE: Groundskeeper/Custodian (12 months per year, 8 hours per day)

INITIAL BUILDING ASSIGNMENT: Service Center

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of a valid driver's license.Minimum age of 18, with a high school diploma or its equivalent.At least five years of experience in groundskeeping, custodial, and building maintenance preferred.Demonstrate general knowledge regarding grounds maintenance.Ability to make clear and comprehensive reports.Ability to work assigned hours. Dress in uniformAbility to remain standing for extended periods.Ability to climb stairs.Ability to operate power-driven cleaning equipment as evidenced by demonstrated proficiency.Pesticide Commercial Applicator license preferred.Operate, maintain, and service all groundskeeping equipment as needed, I.E., tractors, mowers, roto-tillers, tree trimming equipment, etc.Ability to properly lift a bulk weight of 75 lbs. on a regular basis.Ability to work successfully in a team relationship with the building administrators, teachers, students, community members, school groups, and operational staff.Possesses a tolerant and pleasant personality under sometimes demanding work situations.Good health, high moral character, and excellent employment attendance history.Professional tact, diplomacy, and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents, and the community.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform groundskeeping duties, which relate to the school plant, school buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds operation. Perform custodian work required for the routine care, maintenance, protection, and preservation of the buildings and grounds.

COMPENSATION: Wages and fringe benefits based on the collective bargaining agreement.
