Job Description

Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules. Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive, and tasty. Taste all prepared food items and follow established ticket collection procedures during service. Maintain records from the area worked during service periods, clean kitchen after preparation and serving, and maintain high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures, keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, and ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.

Responsibilities

  • Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

  • Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.

  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.

  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.

  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.

  • Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.

  • Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor.

  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.

  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must pass the qualification exam with 75% or higher.

  • Must have 3-5 years of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant or facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50/hr.
