Restaurant Worker - Bartender

Niagara Parks is currently recruiting for Bartenders to join our Culinary Services team for the 2025 season.

This position compensates at a rate of $18.08/hr for Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part-Time employees. Students will be compensated in accordance with Ontario Minimum Wage legislation.

Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part Time Employees Specific:

Additional $1.55/hr for each hour worked in lieu of benefits(seasonal bargaining unit only);

QUALIFICATIONS

No formal education required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience preferred.

Basic reading, writing and understanding of mathematical operations or have the equivalent knowledge or experience.

A Mixology Certificate is an asset.

Must have Smart Serve Certification.

A minimum one-year experience in the Hospitality Industry is preferred.

Good communication skills and ability to deal with the public with courtesy is essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to NPC recipes and standards.

Serves beverages and meals as required.

Checks the bar for proper stock levels and re-stocks as required.

Ensures quantities received matches quantities ordered and informs the Manager or Designate of any discrepancies or needed supplies.

Counts their float to ensure the till at the beginning of the shift balances. Ensures the float has the same value when returned at the end of the shift.

Accurately operates POS System to enter transactions and follows cash handling procedures according to established procedures.

Ensures all records are accurate and reviewed by the Manager or Designate.

Directs customer concerns to the Manager or Designate for resolution.

Keeps bar area clean and organized.

Loads and unloads the glasswasher as necessary.

Rings in Tour Groups.

Responsible for bar inventory (alcoholic and non-alcoholic); maintains daily inventory counts and reconciles with manager or designate at end of shift.

Assists Manager or Designate in completing monthly inventory.

Ensures machinery is cleaned and maintained according to NPC, Niagara Region and Vendor specifications.

Set up/tear down of temporary bars for functions, events, catering as required.

Assist guests by placing and serving take-out orders as required.

Assist in other areas of dining room set up as required.

Responsible for answering the telephone and taking reservations as required.

Follow all policies regarding responsible liquor service (Smart Serve).

Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, AGCO Regulations, Recycling Program and established Policies and Procedures.

Provides guests with information regarding NPC Attractions and Events.

Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission.

Provides quality customer service that meets NPC Standards.
