Royal Tavern is looking for an experienced line cook to join our dinner service team!

A neighborhood staple with deep roots and wide appeal, Royal Tavern is known for its warm, inclusive atmosphere welcoming everyone from vegans to carnivores, wine lovers to teetotalers. Our focus is on quality-driven food and drink with something for everyone. We make as much as possible in-house and offer team members opportunities to learn foundational techniques in charcuterie, pastry, and bread baking.

Our kitchen schedule is built around four-day workweeks to promote work/life balance and support a sustainable career in hospitality.

Who We're Looking For:

  • A culinary professional with solid line cooking experience in a full-service restaurant

  • Someone who is organized, efficient, and detail-oriented

  • A cook with strong knife skills, prep proficiency, and station management ability

  • Able to follow recipes precisely while maintaining quality and consistency

  • Knowledgeable in food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices

  • A team player who communicates clearly and respectfully

  • Interested in learning and growing as a cook and chef

  • ServeSafe Food Manager certification preferred

Requirements:

  • Proven line cook experience with a strong culinary foundation

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen while staying composed and focused

  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs., push/pull up to 75 lbs.

  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks like bending, squatting, and reaching

  • Comfort using professional kitchen tools and equipment, and the ability to taste and smell ingredients
