Job Title : Food Service Worker 1 Job Summary : Performs a variety of routine duties related to the serving of food; responsible for all customer monetary transactions. Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Experience :

  • Previous experience in food service cashier preferred. Must have math and customer relations skills. Must be able to work in hot and humid areas.

  • Greets all customers promptly and courteously. Handles all financial matters in a responsible manner. Balances the cash drawer on a daily basis and is responsible for maintaining accurate customer transactions. Assist in setting up serving area and serves customers in accordance with established schedule and procedure. Cleans the cafeteria dining area and customer service area following infection control and HACCP guidelines. Informs supervisor of all supply and equipment needs. Maintains adequate food and nonfood supplies during meal service. Communicates all customer related comments and/or complaints to the appropriate supervisor. Completes all documentation requirements; temperature logs, cleaning schedule, daily deposits, etc. Understands standard isolation procedures and HACCP guidelines. Understands role in hospitals fire, safety and disaster programs. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
