What will you do?
Communicate with the Office Coordinator or the Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen's needs for linens for the floors and the cottage
Operate and tend the machines, including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets, ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed
Sort, count, and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet
Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and identify items requiring special treatment
Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linens, using hand irons or pressing machines
Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity, including loss of linens due to stains, tears, and wear
More about you
Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members
Basic math skills
Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial
No experience or diploma required
Physical requirements
Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather and how many machines are in operation at any given time
Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shifts
