At Acelero Learning Delaware, we know that healthy meals fuel healthy learning. Were looking for a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Youll play a vital role in ensuring that every child has the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

What Youll Do

As a Cook, you will:

• Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks that meet USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.

• Ensure safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food service area.

• Assist with menu planning and meal preparation to accommodate childrens allergies and dietary restrictions.

• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and track food usage to stay within budget.

• Support teachers and staff by creating a positive and enjoyable mealtime environment for children.

Who You Are

• Knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation practices.

• A collaborative team player with a caring, positive attitude.

• Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus!

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience in food service or institutional cooking preferred.

• Knowledge of CACFP guidelines and safe food handling practices.

• Pass a physical exam and background check.

• Valid drivers license or reliable transportation required.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
