Now Hiring: Baker Famous 4th Street Delicatessen, a Philadelphia Queen Village landmark for over a century, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Baker to join our team in Queen Village. This is an opportunity to carry forward a tradition of handcrafted breads, pastries, cookies, and Jewish deli classics that have been part of our story for generations.

Position: Baker / Pastry Chef Location: Famous 4th Street Delicatessen, Philadelphia, PA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cookies, and traditional Jewish specialties.

  • Follow and preserve time-tested recipes to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Oversee daily baking operations, from ingredient preparation to finishing touches.

  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.

  • Uphold health and safety standards in all baking areas.

  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior bakers and kitchen staff.

  • Collaborate with management on seasonal offerings and menu updates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year professional baking experience.

  • Familiarity with traditional deli baked goods and baking techniques.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for quality.

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.
