Job Details From the Philadelphia hospitality group CookNSolo, behind celebrated concepts such as Zahav, Dizengoff, Goldie, Jaffa Bar, KFar, and Lilah: Laser Wolf is hiring a Junior Sous Chef. We are in search of a dedicated cook who is willing to grow alongside our passionate culinary team.
The right candidate is committed to fostering a positive work culture and deepening their culinary knowledge and expertise with guidance from the Chef de Cuisine. This individual is exceedingly dependable, puts forth a great attitude, and has a desire to learn and grow each day. They will join a management team whose mission is to create a safe and caring environment for the staff, so that they can extend that care to our guests. A minimum of two years kitchen experience is required.
Junior Sous Chef Expectations:
- Work hand-in-hand with fellow FOH and BOH managers to oversee service while continuously thinking of areas for growth
- Be team oriented and ready to step in and come to the aid of your staff at any time
- Support service by jumping in on food preparation, on the line, and in dish plating
- T hrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Work over a charcoal grill throughout dinner service
- Develop and assist to oversee changing of the menus, and overall meal presentations
- Be a strong and diligent communicator
- Ensure the kitchen staff operates in a timely manner
- Oversee inventory and reordering of supplies
- Recruit and train new staff for all BOH positions
- Ensure the quality of product are of the highest standard
- Ensure food safety and sanitation regulations are of the highest standard
- Write the kitchen team schedule
- Be a problem solver
- Work on weekends
