JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and increases VIP guest profitability by building strong professional relationships, actively work the casino floor to acquire new VIP business, encouraging club card utilization, and providing superior service and recognition. The VIP Host will constantly strive to exceed our guests expectations through gracious, enthusiastic, and personalized service. Candidates should have sharply honed interpersonal skills; inspire confidence and exude authenticity with regard to both guest and team interactions.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet VIP & potential VIP guests in the casino and manage player accounts and comps based on recorded play, earned points, comp availability and patron profitability.
  • Assist VIP guests with reservations and acquisition of amenities and work closely with casino operations to ensure that high limit players are recognized and acknowledged.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity/responsibility in handling Harrahs Hoosier Park assets.
  • Assist with maintenance of players as required, including on and off property VIP special event coverage and other departmental needs.
  • Provide superior level of guest service and be available to meet and greet VIP guests while they are on property.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility throughout the facility during the majority of the shift while leveraging RTCM to greet VIP guests.
  • Maintains close ties with targeted VIP guests through personal contact by phone and in person in order to generate incremental gaming trips.
  • Maintain an appropriate working knowledge of Indiana State Gaming Regulations and established Harrahs Hoosier Park policies and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of property, product, promotions, and events.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift and long hours when necessary to including working evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, team building, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must have the ability to resolve stressful situations.
  • Must be able to make sound complimentary decisions based on tracked play.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure, handle situations in a timely manner and work independently.
  • Analytical skills and customer service orientation required.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word is required.
  • Assist with the execution of on and off property premium player promotions, events, and programs.
  • Maintain appropriate and professional attire.
  • Maintain an appropriate and professional business relations with guest at all times.
  • Update VIP guest account information through utilization of SMART.
  • Follow all marketing submissions, SOPs, and IGC requirements.
  • Entrusted with complimentary authority
  • Consistently deliver on all departmental and individual sales goals.
  • Serve as a player expert for casino gaming, simulcasting, and racing.
  • Also Requires: ability to multi-task, keen eye for detail, excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, outstanding communication skills (verbal and written), strong fiscal acumen, display professionalism and maintain professional appearance
  • Seamless coordination with Executive Host team, Inside Sales Team and other team members throughout property (e.g. Credit, Gaming, Hotel, Food & Beverage, Transportation) to create exceptional experiences for VIP guests
  • Identify new potential VIP guests based on criteria established by property leadership

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate or bachelors degree from two to four-year college; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data, financial reports, and internal controls. Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, staff, or members of the business community. Ability to write letters and promotional materials for distribution or publication that conform to a prescribed style and format.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Gaming Commission and Indiana Race Horse Commission.
