Job Description

Are you looking to spend the summer in the mountains in the Northeast United States?

We are looking for chefs and kitchen managers of all levels for Children's Summer Camps to prepare food for 350+ participants per day. You will work in one of our 3 camps located in:

  • Wellesley, MA
  • Milford, PA
  • Albany, NY

Your responsibilities will include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of meals for campers and staff during the summer camp program, preparing meals for special diets, ordering food, cleaning/organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks and kitchen staff as needed. You should also be able to ensure that the refrigerators and storerooms are kept clean and tidy, and that meal records are properly maintained.

This position is from June 15 - August 15. Our camps are outfitted with excellent facilities, equipment, and fully staffed kitchens. Salary is from $5,500 per month. Travel and Housing are provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of food service for residential camp.
  • Plan weekly meals for campers and staff.
  • Ensure cleanliness of food preparation and delivery areas.
  • Follow state health department regulations pertaining to safe food practices.
  • Prepare all meals on time as scheduled or assigned by the director.
  • Complete monthly food inventory by the end of each month.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and in accordance with department of health regulations at all times.
  • Sanitize kitchen surfaces regularly throughout the day.
  • Wash hands frequently while working in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccinations required.
  • 1-year Culinary Experience preferred.
  • 1-year Cooking Experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food allergies and food-related diseases, and ability to meet special food requirements for both campers and staff, e.g. gluten-free and vegetarian diets.
  • The ability to follow recipes and work in a team.
