Our client is a North American transportation and infrastructure services company that provides turnkey mobility solutions to their clients. They are searching for a Fleet Truck Maintenance Mechanic to join their team ASAP!
Salary:
$55-57/hour
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnostics, routine maintenance, and mechanical repairs on motor coaches and heavy-duty vehicles. This includes inspecting engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, operating various servicing tools, using diagnostic software, assisting with complex repairs, and maintaining service records. The role requires foundational knowledge of vehicle systems, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform physical tasks, with experience in electric vehicles and a valid Class B CDL considered a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests and procedures using a variety of equipment, devices and electronic tools
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on motor coaches
Operate servicing equipment such as jacks, hydraulic hoists, battery chargers, pumps, steamers, etc. as instructed
Perform routine mechanical repairs and adjustments; remove, replace or exchange parts, as required
Inspect engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems in order to identify problems or malfunctions and report problems for diagnosis
Assist in the more complex repairs in order to gain additional skills.
Make field trouble calls and attempt to repair equipment through standard checks, adjustments, or exchanging parts in the field.
Maintain service records and process appropriate paperwork.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of general mechanic principles, to include the basic practices used in servicing and making minor mechanical repairs and adjustments
Knowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems common to heavy duty vehicles
Experience with the use of computerized diagnostic equipment and softwares
Ability to perform strenuous activity common to the trade.
Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, service manuals, and other reference materials
Ability to perform routine, repetitive, and minor/major mechanical repairs and adjustments on vehicles
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Training & Experience
2+ years experience in servicing and maintenance work on heavy equipment
Technical college training in diesel or heavy duty equipment mechanics may be substituted for experience
Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered
Experience servicing electric vehicles is a plus
Possession of a valid Class B California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements is a plus
