The Courtyard Marriott in Springfield is currently seeking a detailed, highly motivated individual with open availability to support the needs of the front desk department.

Essential Job Functions

  • To assist guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Front Desk standards of service and hospitality
  • Promptly and effectively deal with guest complaints and requests
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner
  • Post guest charges and compute guest bill and collect payment
  • Handle guest mail/packages by making sure it is communicated to guest they receive their items
  • Be very knowledgeable of Marriott Rewards program and promotions
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, surrounding area
  • Block rooms and handle special requests
  • Monitor room availability
  • Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures
  • Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • Offer and properly handle requests for wake up calls
  • Know how to clean guest rooms to standards
  • Open and close shift and making cash drops
  • Ensure all credit cards and cash are balanced throughout each shift
  • Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information
  • Keep maintenance informed of all maintenance needs
  • Must wear proper uniform at all times
  • Be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Employee must have reliable transportation and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Preform other duties requested per management

Position Requirements

  • Previous hotel experience is preferred
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies and includes working on holidays, weekends.
  • Required to stand for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, type
