What can you expect from the job?

  • $21/hr
  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • On-the-job training

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers in a professional manner by telephone or e-mail.
  • Generates appropriate paperwork using company software (SAP) after verifying inventory for production orders and shipments.
  • Paperwork includes but is not limited to inbound and outbound material receipts and deliveries, rail, barge or boat, tags for traceability, material certifications, daily schedules for each production line, test data and sample testing documents.
  • Assists warehouse staff in performing directed activities to meet objectives.
  • Reviews documents returned by warehouse and shipping staff to ensure documents are completed according to documented policies and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations on ways to improve communication and paper flow between various departments.
  • Notify customers on outstanding invoices and when to expect payments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required.

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Office environment in a warehouse setting. External noise, dusty outside building.
  • Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer
  • Occasionally lifting boxes or equipment Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • General knowledge of basic office equipment such as computers, printers, copier, and scanner.
    • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven interpersonal skills with customers, co-workers, and management.
    • Organized, accurate, detail oriented.

    Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:

    • Prefer experience with SAP
    • Two years or more of customer service or similar background
    • Prefer steel industry background
