  • Perform the tasks of painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, window and roofing repairs, as needed to maintain buildings.
  • Perform the tasks of interior repairs and/or set-up installation of temporary structures within the buildings.
  • Perform landscaping, watering, mowing, edging, and fertilizing lawns and pruning trees and shrubs.
  • Repair sewer and water lines, sprinklers and valves.
  • Operate equipment such as tractors, dump truck, water truck, blowers, mowers, loaders, trimmers, and forklift for the maintenance of the grounds and to set up for interim and fair events.
  • Use general maintenance tools and equipment, such as hammers, wrenches, drills, grinder, pliers, welder, etc., as needed.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to unskilled workers in performing maintenance work and in keeping the facilities, restrooms, building and equipment clean and in good working order.

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Worker will perform their duties on the grounds of the 10th District Agricultural Association/Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds at 1712 Fairlane Road in Yreka, California.

The duties of this position are primarily performed outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions. Nights, weekends and holiday work may be expected depending on events but especially during the annual fair and special events.

The 10th District Agricultural Association (DAA) promotes excellence in agriculture awareness and education through the Siskiyou Golden Fair and interim programs using a financially sustainable model. The 10th DAA is dedicated to showcasing the customs and culture vitality while maximizing fairgrounds facilities in an economically viable way.
