What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required; a technical certification or Associate's degree in Machining, Tool & Die, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist or tool maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in operating standard machine tools like lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of tooling maintenance, fabrication processes, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Proficient in shop math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking), with the ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with CNC programming is a plus.
- Machinist or Tool & Die Certification and OSHA 10/30 certification are preferred.

Responsibilities
- Operate and set up manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) for fabricating and repairing parts.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise work.
- Utilize basic CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) to review or create simple part drawings.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of tooling, including sharpening punches, disassembling and cleaning parts, and repairing/replacing slitter blades.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with production tooling and recommend effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS software.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize tooling performance and minimize downtime.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and propose cost-saving measures.
- Manage shop inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and a well-organized workspace.
