JOB REQUIREMENTS: Accommodate hotel, motel, and resort patrons by

registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys or cards,

transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms

and guests\' accounts, making and confirming reservations, and

presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests.

Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments

Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same

day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows

cancellation procedures. Knows room locations, types of rooms available,

and room rates Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms coordinates

room status updates with housekeeping, special requests Knows daily

activities and meetings taking place in the hotel Reports any unusual

occurrences to manager Helps guest with complaints in a professional and

courteous manner Processes guest check outs and handles monetary

transactions Maintains customers privacy Maintains a high level of

professional appearance and demeanor Performs other duties as assigned.

Arrange tours, taxis, or restaurant reservations for customers. Clean

and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and

watering plants. Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for

guests. Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report

problems. Date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages. Greet,

register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels or motels. Keep records

of room availability and guests\' accounts, manually or using computers.

Make and confirm reservations. Post charges, such as those for rooms,

food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers, manually or by using

computers. Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to

managers as necessary. Review accounts and charges with guests during

the check out process. Transmit and receive messages, using telephones

or telephone switchboards. Verify customers\' credit, and establish how

the customer will pay for the accommodation. Perform bookkeeping

activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits.

\*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or

equivalent previous hotel-related experience preferred, will train right

person Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff and management in

a professional manner knowledge of surrounding areas and local events

Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, check cashing and

cash handling policies and procedures. Able to properly secure guest

information Ability to learn safety, emergency and accident prevention

policies and procedures Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette Ability

to work a flexible schedule, all shifts, weekends and holidays
