About the Role
In this opportunity as an Event Planner, you will:
Plan and Execute Logistics: Deliver and execute events from start to finish, as part of a team or independently, ensuring seamless operation and successful outcomes.
Project Planning: Develop event project plans and schedules, utilizing tools like event software, internal websites, and social media for effective team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Venue/Site Selection: Working with the Event Manager, research destination options, properties, and airfares within client budgets and preferred dates. Conduct cost comparisons when necessary.
Contract Negotiations: Work with the Events Manager to negotiate discounted rates and favorable contract terms with industry contacts and hotel chains.
Budget Management: Collaborate with internal clients to establish program budgets. Work with the Events Manager to draft detailed budgets, obtain approval, and ensure adherence to financial constraints. Manage reconciliation of invoices and provide comprehensive cost breakdowns post-event.
Communication: Prepare and present proposals, agendas, and budgets to internal clients for review and approval, ensuring clarity and alignment with expectations.
Logistical Planning: Oversee all logistical aspects of meetings/events, including attendee management, registration, food and beverage, meeting space, accommodation lists, air travel, ground transportation and creative branding needs.
Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners for venue sourcing, group travel, attendee registration, and event support. Stay informed about industry trends and changes.
Metrics and Measurement: Use the Events tools to track and measure event success, providing insights and reports as needed.
Post-Event Debriefs: Conduct or participate in debriefs after each event, documenting feedback to enhance future event planning and execution.
Additional Assignments: Perform other duties as requested by the manager to support team and organizational goals.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Event Planner if you have the following required qualifications:
Bachelors degree or proven experience in event planning or a related field
3+ years of meeting planning experience and solid experience with event planning logistics
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficiency in event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with budget/invoice management.
Ability to travel 20%-25% as part of the role

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $56,000 - $104,000.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
