Assistant Housekeeping Manager

The Sonnenalp is hiring an Assistant Housekeeping Manager Wage 56500year plus 10 bonus eligibility Primary Purpose of Position Assist the Director of Housekeeping in maintaining the highest standards at the hotels guest rooms restaurants and public areas in terms of cleanliness and housekeeping service delivery Responsible for consistently delivering the Sonnenalp cleanliness standards and assuring the highest levels of product maintenance and care Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will assist the Director of Housekeeping in interviewing hiring coaching scheduling training and reviewing of all housekeeping floral uniform and laundry staffPerform all functions of the housekeeping laundry and floral operations as neededPrepare or assist in preparing housekeeping assignments for the housekeepers and supervisors supervising on the floors and checking guestrooms for cleanlinessSpot check guests rooms behind room attendants & turndown attendants to ensure accuracy and consistencyProvide feedback and prepare employee evaluationsProvide coaching and guidance for employeesCheck public areas as well as the spa throughout the day to ensure cleanlinessMaintain inventory of storage areas and housekeeping closets and keep them up to dateAssist with ordering guestroom and laundry suppliesHandle guests complaints with concern and empathy and always follow up with guests to ensure complete satisfactionProvide feedback to staff as neededTrain staff members on an ongoing basis on LHW standardsRespond to guest requests in a timely mannerTrack employee attendance and enteredit employee punches in Paychex as neededAssist in laundry mini bar and rooms if neededAttend all daily meetings and actively participate in any committees assigned toUphold the highest standards of cleanliness safety and conductUse HotSOS for any guest requests or maintenance work ordersKnowledge of OSHA and safety standards within Housekeeping departmentReport any safety hazards concerns or incidents to appropriate managementEducationExperience High School Diploma or equivalent GED requiredCollege degree preferredMinimum 1 year housekeeping experience requiredMinimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory positionSpecial SkillsEquipment Experience with HMS or similar Property Management System preferredEnglish and Spanish fluency preferredCapable of using independent judgment solid decision making skillsAbility to anticipate guest needs change goals and direction quickly and multitaskSelf motivated and able to accomplish goals under minimal supervision at timesProficiency with computer systemsFlexible availability required to include nights weekends and holidaysEssential Physical Requirements This role involves demanding physical abilities including but not limited to Must be able to stand for duration of shiftAbility to lift push pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25 lbs and have the ability to carry up to 50 lbsAbility to kneel bend crawlAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicalsEmployee conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co workers guests and vendorsBenefits Medical Dental Vision InsuranceResort DiscountsHoliday Pay Paid Time Off and Sick Pay401k Retirement Plan & Roth 401kVoluntary Life InsuranceShort Term & Long Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance ProgramParking Credit or Discounted Bus PassesHealthy Lifestyle Winter BenefitThis job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills efforts duties responsibilities or working conditions associated with the position Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time
