The WSD Nutrition Services Department is looking for passionate, reliable individuals to support our school cafeteria operations and help provide nutritious meals to students each day. This role is ideal for those with an interest in large-scale food services or culinary experience who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and take pride in delivering great customer service to students and staff. As part of the National School Lunch Program, attention to detail, food safety, and strict compliance with program regulations are essential. Your work will directly support student health, focus, and success in the classroom.

THE POSITION: Under general supervision, performs general food service duties as assigned: such as the preparation, packaging, serving and/or distribution of food in the District's Nutrition Center or at a school site kitchen; maintains facilities in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary manner; performs other related work as required. Maintains cash drawer and makes change; operates computerized point of sale equipment; prepares daily cash and sales reports; performs other related work as required. The class of Food Service Worker is an entry level classification that may be assigned to work at either the Nutrition Center or a school site kitchen and is primarily responsible for the preparation and serving of food.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Any combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position. A typical way of achieving this would be a high school diploma or equivalency. Experience: Some experience working in food services and with computers is desirable. Work history which indicates an ability to work regularly, on time, and perform effectively.
