Custodian Valley Hi Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodian is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance of the County nursing home facilities and grounds. Moves heavy furniture and/or equipment for the purposes of cleaning. Maintain a clean environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Work Week: Varied work days and every other weekend required

Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs custodial duties using heavy cleaning equipment as required to scrub, strip, buff, and wash floors and baseboards. Dust, mops and/or wet mops floors; moves and rearranges furniture for cleaning purposes.
• Performs building maintenance duties to include picking up and disposing of trash and papers, setting up and taking down tables, chairs, stages, etc., for indoor and outdoor activities.
• May perform minor repairs on small tools and equipment as required.
• Performs general housekeeping including dusting and cleaning frequently used rooms such as rest rooms, common areas, and kitchen areas. Vacuums carpets and mats, washes windows, and strips and washes beds.
• Cleans rugs using spot cleaning techniques and/or heavy equipment as required.
• Prevents spread of infection through proper handling and transporting of laundry, bedpans, linens, and washbasins.
• Maintains Bio-Hazard room in Basement.
• Collects Bio-Hazard items/ laundry and brings to Bio-Hazard room in basement.
• Maintains strict confidentially of client information.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Interacts with residents, staff, and others within and outside the unit to exchange information and efficiently accomplish work assignments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of one year of progressively responsible related experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid Driver's License
