Job Description and Duties

Performs janitorial duties including sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; cleans, dusts, and polishes cabinets, desks, counters, and furniture; empties and cleans waste receptacles; cleans walls, windows, and blinds; cleans and maintains restrooms including cleaning mirrors, toilet bowls, urinals, wash basins, refilling lavatory supply dispensers, and cleaning counters; assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment; replaces light globes and tubes as needed; maintains and orders janitorial supplies to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Performs general grounds maintenance duties including lawn mowing, minor pruning, trimming, watering, and maintaining ornamental plantings; keeps parking lot free of debris and sweeps sidewalks; and maintains records for facility and grounds repairs. Ensures the facility and surrounding grounds are kept neat, clean, and in good repair to reflect favorably upon the Department.

Assists the Area Automotive Technician II, on a limited basis. inspect, remove, rotate, mount, and balance tires. Inventory and stack tires in shelves. Assist with transportation of vehicles to dealerships and/or repair facilities. Review repair notices for completion of job order and correct as necessary. Maintain records of vehicle repairs and maintenance. Prepare requisitions and maintain inventories of automotive supplies. Make minor automotive adjustments or minor repairs. Clean interior and exterior of motor vehicles.
