Job Details Borgo is the newest addition to the Marlow Collective (Diner, Marlow & Sons, Romans, Achilles Heel) from restaurateur Andrew Tarlow. The groups first restaurant in Manhattan features an expansive formal dining room separated by a fireplace, an open kitchen with a wood-fired oven, and an ambitious beverage program curated by industry veterans. We are seeking gifted hospitality professionals to join our team.Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring they feel acknowledged and cared for throughout their dining experience. Manage reservations, floor plans, flow of service, and any special requests to optimize the guest experience.
- Oversee the smooth operation of the dining room, ensuring high standards of service are consistently maintained. Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Liaise closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between the dining room and kitchen. Monitor and manage the flow of service to maintain an uptempo yet ordered pace for the guest experience.
- Uphold the restaurants standards of cleanliness, organization, and aesthetics. Ensure that all areas of the dining room are impeccably presented at all times.
- Promote the restaurants products, including special events, seasonal menus, beverage offerings, and merchandise. Assist in developing strategies to attract guests and maximize retention.
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, guest preferences, guests of note, and all special occasions. Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Dining Room Manager, Captain, Maitre D' or similar leadership role in a fine dining restaurant.
- Extensive, evolved understanding of culinary and dining room terms, best practices, and techniques.
- Expansive understanding of beverages including major wine regions and varieties, classic and modern cocktails, and service etiquette.
- Familiarity with reservation, inventory, and point-of-sale systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A keen attention to detail and spatial awareness.

While performing the duties of the job, a maitre d' is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $30.00)
