Primary Purpose:
Responsible for on-site leadership to maintain and clean district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
Ability to read/check email, check calendars, and utilize spreadsheets
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and maintenance
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies Experience: Two years of experience in custodial services
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Cleaning- Oversee and maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
- Oversee that school building and sidewalks are neat and clean.
- Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
- Oversee the collection and disposal of rubbish, and refuse from the athletic fields and surrounding areas
- Work as needed at after school sporting events and other extra-curricular events.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff. Make reports for major repair needs to the supervisor, or campus secretary.
- Move small furniture or equipment within building as directed.
- Assist in setting up facilities for special events.

Safety- Assist with closing procedures of buildings at the conclusion of each shift. checking to ensure that all exit doors are closed and secured properly.
- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
- Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the campus lead or custodial supervisor.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain positive and effective communications and relationships with supervisors and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Monitor the work and completion of campus custodial staff
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, hand tools, shampooer and other custodial equipment.
Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (25 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress
